IndiaMART lead automation: frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked about IndiaMART BuyLeads, automating them, and how Engyne works — including the questions where the answer is "don't buy this".

Quick answer

IndiaMART BuyLeads are buyer requirements that sellers unlock with credits, and a limited number of suppliers can consume each one — so speed and precision both matter. Automation tools read the BuyLeads visible in your own account and apply keyword, location, quantity and contact-verification rules before a credit is spent. It is worth doing once you see roughly ten or more relevant leads a day.

About IndiaMART BuyLeads

What is an IndiaMART BuyLead?

A BuyLead is a buyer's purchase requirement posted on IndiaMART and shared with suppliers who deal in that product or service. Sellers spend BuyLead credits to unlock the buyer's contact details. A BuyLead stays available until a limited number of suppliers have consumed it, which is why reaching a fresh lead early matters.

How many suppliers can buy the same BuyLead?

IndiaMART closes a BuyLead once a set number of suppliers have consumed it — commonly cited as six. In practice this means a lead you reach late has already been bought by competitors who are calling the same buyer.

What are BuyLead credits?

Credits are the currency you spend to unlock a buyer's contact details on a BuyLead. They are purchased from IndiaMART as part of your seller package. Spending them on leads outside what you actually sell is the main avoidable waste in most seller accounts.

Where do I find the most recent BuyLeads?

In the IndiaMART seller panel, the recent BuyLeads view shows newly posted requirements. This is the page most sellers refresh manually through the day, and the page Engyne watches on a schedule.

Why does lead freshness matter so much?

Because the supplier who calls first usually gets the conversation. A lead that is minutes old and a lead that is hours old cost the same credit but convert very differently. Speed is the main reason sellers automate this at all.

About automating BuyLead qualification

Can IndiaMART BuyLeads be filtered automatically?

Yes. Third-party Chrome extensions can read the BuyLeads visible in your own seller account and apply rules — keyword matching, location, quantity, lead age, and whether the buyer's contact details are verified — before you spend a credit. This is what Engyne and similar tools do.

Can BuyLeads be picked automatically?

Yes, if you enable it. Tools can click through to contact a buyer when a lead matches your rules. Sensible setups pair this with a hard cap on picks per session and a test mode, so a misconfigured keyword cannot burn a day of credits.

Is automating IndiaMART against the rules?

These tools automate actions you can already perform yourself, in your own seller account, in your own browser, and Engyne uses no official IndiaMART API. Engyne is an independent tool with no affiliation to IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd. Sellers should read their own agreement with the platform and decide what they are comfortable with.

Will automation waste my credits?

It can, if the rules are loose — that is the honest risk. The protections that matter are a restricted keyword list, location rules, quantity minimums, contact-verification requirements, an auto-stop cap, and a test mode that runs everything while spending nothing. Use test mode for the first few days.

How many leads a day do I need before automation is worth it?

Roughly ten relevant BuyLeads a day is a reasonable floor. Below that, manual checking is cheaper and the setup effort will not pay back. Automation multiplies an existing lead flow; it does not create one.

About Engyne

What is Engyne?

Engyne is a Chrome extension that qualifies IndiaMART BuyLeads. It runs in Chrome's native side panel next to the IndiaMART seller portal, applies your keyword, location, quantity and contact-verification rules to each visible BuyLead, and picks only the matches. It is sold with the keyword setup done for you and a year of support included.

Is Engyne the same as Engyne CRM?

No. Engyne CRM at engyne.com is an unrelated real-estate CRM from a different company. This Engyne, at engyne.space, is an IndiaMART lead automation Chrome extension for B2B sellers in India. The names collide; the products have nothing to do with each other.

Is Engyne made by IndiaMART?

No. Engyne is an independent third-party tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd.

How is Engyne different from other IndiaMART automation tools?

The filtering is comparable to the alternatives. The difference is the operating model: we build the keyword set from your catalogue, watch the first live runs with you, and keep tuning the rules from your real logs for a year. Most automation setups fail because nobody maintains the keyword list, not because a feature was missing.

What filters does Engyne support?

Approved keywords (up to 500 terms), restricted keywords, Indian state rules or export country lists, lead age, member age, quantity and bulk minimums, lead quality, and required contact information — mobile, email or both, at either available or verified level.

Does Engyne have a scheduler?

Yes. You can set daily run windows with active days and a start and stop time, or interval cycles that run for X minutes and pause for Y. It opens or reuses a single IndiaMART recent-leads tab rather than spawning many.

Can I stop it from picking too many leads?

Yes, two ways. Auto-stop halts the session after a configured number of picks. Test mode turns picking off entirely while the rule engine still runs and logs every decision, so you can validate a keyword set without spending anything.

Does Engyne show why a lead was rejected?

Yes. Every rejection is logged with its reason — no approved keyword, lead age over threshold, wrong state, missing contact details, and so on. The log retains 2,000 entries and filters by picked, rejected or info. Reading these is how the rules get better.

Does Engyne work for exporters?

Yes. Export mode replaces Indian state rules with country allow-lists, and the contact-verification filters matter more on international leads. Several clients run export-focused setups.

Does Engyne export leads to CSV?

No. Engyne keeps a detailed activity log for tuning the rules, but it is not a lead database and does not export CSV. If spreadsheet export is central to your workflow, AutoSift does that and we would point you there.

Is Engyne a CRM?

No. It stops once a lead is picked. Following up, tracking the conversation and closing the deal stay in whatever process you already use.

Do I need to keep my computer running?

Yes, during your configured run windows. Engyne is a browser extension, not a cloud service — if the machine is asleep or Chrome is closed, nothing runs.

How do I install Engyne?

Download the ZIP, open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, click Load unpacked and select Engyne is on the Chrome Web Store — click Add to Chrome, then open the side panel and activate your key. It takes about a minute, and we can install it with you on a screen share.

How much does Engyne cost?

It is quoted per client rather than sold at a list price, because the keyword setup and tuning scale with catalogue complexity. Every engagement includes the licence, setup, tuning, updates, training and a year of WhatsApp, WhatsApp and email support. Message +1 249 349 9179 on WhatsApp with your catalogue for a quote.

Is there a free trial?

No self-serve free tier, but we issue demo keys. Run it in test mode on your own account and it will log exactly what it would have picked, without spending a credit.

What happens after the first year?

The tool keeps working. The support and tuning relationship is what renews, and we discuss that at renewal rather than auto-charging.

Who is Engyne not right for?

Sellers with low relevant lead volume, sellers whose qualification genuinely needs human judgement on every lead, teams that want a self-serve tool with no vendor contact, and anyone who needs CSV export. In those cases we will say so.
